| Dress
Code 1. The aim of these
dress regulations is to develop an underlying
spirit where all members and guests respect each
other and honour the traditions of the club by
wearing proper attire. All members and
non-member guests using this prestigious golf
course or taking part in any activity of the
club must wear appropriate clothing and apparel
for maintaining uniformity and also to avoid
confusion of dress to wear. The following dress
code covering various club events has been
proposed after taking into consideration the
current trends and practices of other
international golf clubs.
2. In Golf Course, All members and non-members
using this course or taking part in the
competition must wear appropriate clothing and
apparel that complies with the IGF dress code
regulations:
a. Headgear. Must put on a Cap / Hat / Visor
b. Dress.
(1) General.
The following shall apply to all members,
tournament participants and non-member guests in KGC.
(a) Not acceptable are track suits, round neck
shirt, T-shirts, sweat pants, Jogging pants,
cutoffs or beachwear, sandal, chappol, sleeper
without back strap, cleats, raised heels, or
hard spikes and Jeans.
(b) Footwear that damages the course is not
permitted on the golf course or on the practice
areas.
(c) In Kurmitola Golf Club course hard / iron
spikes will not be permitted under any
circumstances.
(d) Golf headdress, including hats, visors and
headbands are permitted in the clubhouse.
Golfers are requested to remove their headdress
in the dining room.
(2) Men. Sports / golf shirts with collar &
sleeves (short / long) or turtleneck shirts may
be worn. Shirts must be tucked in at the waist
with trousers / Shorts. Shorts should be little
below knee length and must be worn with socks.
Long trousers “Plus Fours” Bermuda / Walking
type shorts below knee may be worn.
(3) Women. Golf shirts, tailored slacks,
turtleneck blouses/ sweater, long trousers or
shorts / skirts but not shorter than 5 inches
above knee are permitted. Sleeveless shirts,
blouses and other dresses must have collar. But
long un-tucked shirts are not permitted. Shirts
must be tucked-in at the waist.
c. Shoes. Participants must put on proper golf
shoes with soft spikes. Golf shoes with iron
spikes and PT or Jogging shoes are not allowed.
3. In Restaurant. May put on decent casual dress
with long trouser and shirt (preferably full
sleeves at night) tucked-in at the waist. Hawai
/ T-shirt may be worn un-tucked. Jean or
slippers without back strap are not allowed.
Shirts printed with offensive language or
symbols are not allowed. Ladies may wear casual
dress like shari, salwar & Kamiz etc. Golfers
after a round of golf are allowed to use the
restaurant facilities in golf dress. However,
golfers are requested to remove their headdress
in the dining room.
4. During Inauguration and Prize Distribution
Ceremony.
a. During day time. Participants in the
inauguration ceremony must put on golf attire
and during prize distribution golf dress but no
shorts, sandal or slippers are allowed.
b. At Night. During winter from 15 November to
28 February, lounge suit /combination to be
worn. During summer from 01 April to 01 November
informal dress / Smart Casual with full sleeve
shirts tucked in at the waist along with shoes
is to be put on. Ladies are requested to put on
Salwar & Kamiz or Shari with / without cardigan
or shawl during winter. Foreign ladies may wear
formal dress or their national dress.
5. Swimming Pool. Swimming trunks or costumes
are must for all pool users. Swimming cap and
glass may be worn. Ladies are to fold their
spread-out long hair with hair band/lace or to
put on swimming cap while in the swimming pool.
All members and guests must wash their body,
void themselves properly before using the pool
and wipe the wet body before entering in the
change room. Members and guests having any skin
or infectious disease are not permitted to use
the swimming pool. Pajama, trouser, or Shari are
not allowed in swimming pool.
6. Social Activities.
a. In 31st December Night Celebration Party.
Lounge suit or Combination to be worn. But no
half sleeve shirt, pajama-panjabi with shawl and
slippers to be allowed. However ladies can put
on cardigan or shawl over Shari.
b. Pahela Baishak. Casual dress appropriate to
our culture and tradition may be worn. Sherwani
(Men’s coat with buttons up to the neck), Pajama
and punjabi may be worn with slippers or sandal.
But lunghi or dhuti are not accepted. Ladies may
put on shari or Salwar & Kamiz.
c. Dinner Organized in Honor of Overseas
Participants. Lounge Suit for men and Shari or
trouser & shirt with / without cardigan or shawl
for the women.
7. Executive Committee Meeting. Lounge Suit.
8. Annual General Meeting and other Club
Meeting.
a. For Men. Closed Collar
b. For women. Shari / pant & shirt with or
without Cardigan / shawl.
9. On the Course. All players must have a set of
clubs. Carts are to be kept on the cart path at
least 30 feet from the Greens and off the trees.
Please smooth over all marks in the sand traps
with the rakes provided. Replace divots on the
fairways and tees or use the sand /seed mixture
if provided and repair ball marks on the greens.
10. All members and non-member guests are to
comply with the dress code regulations. Sponsors
of the tournaments are responsible to inform
their guests about the dress code of the
occasion, if invited and to ensure that they are
properly dressed as per the instruction given in
the invitation card. The club authority may
refuse to provide any service to the member or
guest if they are not dressed as per the dress
code. Members are also responsible for the dress
and behaviour of their accompanying guests at
all times while they are in club premises.
Recommendations of the Board
1. The draft ADR-2005 may be circulated to all
the fmn/units for the comments of the users
before it is finalize.
2. Colour photo of three personnel (1 x offr, 1
x JCO, 1 x OR) with min three sets of proposed
working dress (out of 6) may be circulated to
all the fmn/units for their valuable comments
for final selection of one set.
3. The board has worked on all the existing
dresses and their present uses in Bangladesh
Army. If any dress has been left out in this
book which may be in occasional use in
Bangladesh Army can be included with the
comments and design from the user units/fmn/dte/institution.
